Newport Partners is a closely-held, small and medium enterprise focused, private equity firm. We specialize in sponsoring existing management and outside entrepreneurs in industry-specific business acquisitions, and then significantly supporting them post-acquisition.

Our firm has roots dating back to 1990 as a Special Situations Group within our Merger & Acquisition Advisory business that provides M&A services to outside clients. Newport Partners was spun out of this company in 2005 as a stand-alone buyout sponsorship firm and completed its first acquisition within 5 months.

Our core strategy is three-fold:

1. Acquire sound companies - within highly defined parameters - on reasonable terms.
2. Partner with only the best business managers and entrepreneurs, who become the Operating Partners of their respective company, in these buyouts. They receive above-par equity and compensation commensurate with their individual responsibilities and achievements.
3. Support our Operating Partners with a robust growth and management strategy in order to develop the acquired business into a larger and more profitable company. Newport Partners is an extremely active buyer of small and medium-sized businesses, and therefore we work with some of the finest lenders, accountants, attorneys, business intermediaries, investment bankers, and business brokers throughout the US in sourcing, financing, and completing these transactions. Our reputation as an honest and hard-working buyer precedes us and that is why we are privileged to work with these firms, but the proof of our reputation is in our current and growing investment portfolio, all of which has been sourced, negotiated, and closed within a fairly short amount of time.
